Firmware Upgrade of Fanvil phones

Supported Models: Fanvil X and C series

The following document will outline how to upgrade the firmware of a Fanvil X and C series IP phone using the device’s own web interface. This step is required prior to the provisioning of the phone to ensure that the minimum requirements and features are implemented into the device’s firmware. The minimum required firmware is specified in the main provisioning guides for Fanvil X series and C series.

 

Check/Validate Firmware Version

In order to check the firmware version of your Fanvil IP phone:

  1. Point your web browser to your phone’s IP address.
  2. Login to your account (default user/password: admin/admin).
  3. Navigate to “Information >> System >> Software.” This number is your device’s running firmware.

Upgrade Firmware

In order to manually upgrade your Fanvil’s firmware:

  1. Visit our page with the latest Phone Firmware
  2. Download the firmware image file .zip/.z for your phone model and save it in your drive.
  3. Point your web browser to your phone’s IP address.
  4. Navigate to “Upgrade >> System >> System Image File.”
  5. Click on “Select,” choose the firmware image file saved previously, and press “Upgrade.”
